Tuna Duck is fortunate and proud to have as mate, Capt. Mike Edwards, a long time Hatteras fisherman who also has his captain's license. A native of Virginia, he graduated from Virginia Tech and came to the ocean to fulfill a life-long dream of working on the water.

Co-Owner Jerry Shepherd has operated fishing charters since 1978, and fished from Hatteras since 1981. He captained the "Tuna Duck" from 1986 to 2001. Currently he plays golf, keeps his dog, Luke, company, and occasionally talks to customers about fishing.

Mary Shepherd, bookings, answers your calls and does the website. Mary spends her time keeping Jerry sort of in line and helps Capt. Dan with the "books." She is available from 9AM till 11PM at 772-219-9592, to take your calls.

Chartering and Booking information:

Available year 'round for charter in Hatteras, North Carolina and east coast tournaments. Fishing from the Outer Banks off Cape Hatteras, N.C. for yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, wahoo, dolphin (mahi mahi), and king mackerel.

Located at the southern end of Hatteras Island in Hatteras Village, and fishing out of Hatteras Inlet, between Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands.

All tackle and bait furnished; Leave at dawn and return between 4 and 5 PM with 6 to 7 hours actual fishing time. Run to the gulfstream takes only 1 to 1- 1/2 hours. Per Coast Guard regulations, 1 to 6 people on a charter.
